Created as Luca Gritti’s homage to early seaside memories and the diary notes of Alvise Gritti’s first arrival on the shores of the Ottoman Empire, the fragrance channels a spirit of freedom, curiosity, and exploration. As part of the Black Collection, Preludio transforms heritage, travel, and personal impression into an elegant, understated presence that lingers with modern refinement.
Built upon a fougère-aquatic structure, the composition opens with French lavender, Sicilian lemon, and salty sea notes—an invigorating trio that recalls sunlit coastlines and cool breezes brushing the skin. The heart introduces a textured blend of sandalwood, pine, and tobacco, evoking wooded shores and drifting smoke at sunset. In the base, ambergris, musk, and marine algae create a smooth, mineral finish that deepens the scent’s maritime character.
