STÉPHANIE BAKOUCHE

Stéphanie Bakouche knew from childhood that she wanted to create perfume, a conviction that eventually led her to train at ISIPCA. Mentored by Bertrand Duchaufour, she developed broad industry experience with Givaudan, Takasago, and Hermès Parfum before moving between creation, product development, and education. Her work with L’Artisan Parfumeur deepened that versatility, while her 2005 composition Invasion Barbare for Parfums MDCI established her reputation for bold, finely structured perfumery. In 2017 she founded Sensaba, her independent creative laboratory, allowing her to work freely with niche houses while pursuing a personal vision rooted in craftsmanship, curiosity, and strong olfactory expression.

Bakouche approaches fragrance as an emotional and artistic language, seeking originality without losing clarity or wearability. Her compositions often thrive on contrasts: brightness against shadow, refinement against sensuality, and familiar materials treated from unexpected angles. She has created Rose SaltifOlia and Osmanthe Kōdoshān for Maison Crivelli, alongside perfumes for Jul et Mad, Chabaud, Comporta Perfumes, Masque Milano, and Miraj. Beyond composition, she is an active member of the Osmothèque and teaches olfaction and creation at the École Supérieure du Parfum. Her distinctive strength lies in combining technical discipline, expressive accords, and an enduring commitment to transmitting perfume culture.
