Dalia Izem trained at ISIPCA, developing the technical discipline behind a career shaped by movement between cultures. She has lived in five countries, speaks five languages, and describes herself as a cultural chameleon, an outlook that informs her instinct for connection through scent. Now a senior perfumer at Givaudan, she previously worked with IFF, Zoaroma, and Drom. Her imagination is rooted in sensory memory: spice markets, citrus gardens, family cooking, and the sun-filled dishes of her Algerian and Syrian grandmothers. Gastronomy remains a recurring source of inspiration, giving her compositions warmth, generosity, and an inviting sense of discovery.

Izem is drawn to sensual materials and fluid contrasts, with musk holding particular appeal for its intimate, skin-like character. Her work ranges from Ex Nihilo’s Iris Porcelana, a delicate study of iris, rose, woods, and soft musk, to Ojar’s Halwa Kiss and Épine du Désert, alongside creations for The Merchant of Venice and Plume Impression. In 2022, she was named Perfumer of the Year at the Beautyworld Middle East Awards, recognizing her success across regional and international markets. Her style balances refinement with emotional immediacy, weaving culinary references, cultural memory, and tactile richness into fragrances that feel polished, generous, and deeply human.
